Pathways to Permanent Residence:


1. Caring for children Pathway

  • You must have at least 24 months of full-time work experience (at least 30 hrs     per week) in Canada as a home child care provider in the four years (48                 months) before you apply.
  • Your work experience as a child care provider must meet the definition in the       Canadian National Occupational Classification (NOC) Group 4411.
  • Have completed a minimum of at least one year Canadian post-secondary             education or an equivalent of foreign education credentials (with ECA).
  • Must meet the minimum language level of Canadian Language Benchmark           (CLB) 5 on all four language abilities.

2. Caring for People with High Medical Needs
  • You must have a minimum of 24 months full-time work experience (at least 30     hrs per week) in Canada as a Registered Nurse, Registered Psychiatric Nurse,     Licensed Practical Nurse, Nurse Aide, Orderly, Patient Service Associate,             Home Support Worker, or other similar occupation with a valid work permit.
  • Prove that you are licensed to practice in Canada if your work experience is         from a regulated occupation.
  • Must meet the minimum language threshold for the job:
    • Registered Nurses and Registered Psychiatric Nurses - CLB 7
    • Other qualified occupations - CLB 5
